Mike Hope – IBM
Mike Hope is the Industry Technical Leader for Insurance and Investment Markets at IBM. He drives Innovation with his clients using all of IBM’s strengths and capabilities to create new platforms, revenue streams and to streamline business operations using digital technologies. He is a champion of open technology, customer experience, and security.
Mike’s current client engagements include impact of financial regulation, big-data and data quality for insights, blockchain for new operating models, application of artificial intelligence in customer experience and investment research.
Mike has over 20 years of IT industry experience in a range of senior technical and managerial positions.
Matthew Lonsdale – Pershing
Matthew Lonsdale is Vice President and Business Development Manager for Pershing Limited, a BNY Mellon company. Matthew has responsibility for business development and relationship management, specialising in wealth managers and financial advisers.
Matthew has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services. He joined Pershing in 2016 having previously worked at Asset Risk Consultants (ARC) where he was a director and head of business development. Prior to ARC, Matthew held a series of senior roles at Thomas Miller Investment Management and before that was head of business development at Psigma Investment Management.
Matthew is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Julia Jackson – Wedlake Bell
Julia is an expert in UK Immigration and Nationality Law having practised in this field for more than two decades.
She has a particular expertise in the Points Based Immigration System including Investors, Entrepreneurs and Sponsored Workers. Julia assists UK businesses, multinational corporations, inward investors, executives and private individuals to successfully secure and manage UK immigration status.
In addition, Julia provides strategic advice for corporations to ensure effective immigration strategies are in place for employees as well as advising on planning and monitoring of compliance issues and record keeping.
Richard Isham – Wedlake Bell

He also advises on the people issues that arise under TUPE when businesses: (i) outsource particular functions; (ii) change a provider of outsourced services (secondary outsourcing) and (iii) bring a formally outsourced service back “in house” (in-sourcing).
Rosalyn Breedy – Wedlake Bell
Rosalyn is a Corporate, Funds and Financial Services practitioner with inhouse and private practice experience. Her core clients are family businesses, family offices, private wealth and alternative investment fund managers, trustees, private capital investors, and entrepreneurs (particularly private equity, hedge fund principals, fintech businesses) .
In addition to providing strategic advice Rosalyn establishes private funds, advises family offices , private wealth and fund management businesses and acts on a range of private equity and joint venture deals.
Rosalyn also provides financial services regulatory and commercial advice, with a particular interest in the development of new products and business models focussed on technology. She has a keen interest in financial regulation and policy work and writes and speaks regularly on these matters.

Adam Betts – Wedlake Bell
Adam is a Senior Associate Solicitor who specialises in non-contentious commercial, IP and IT matters.
Adam advises on general commercial law & contracts, the protection & exploitation of IP rights, software (including app) development & licensing, business-process & technology outsourcing, e-business, consumer law and data protection. He advises a broad range of clients of varying shapes and sizes including those operating in the tech, financial services, hotel & restaurant, retail, design, property & construction and healthcare industries (amongst others). Adam enjoys advising start-up, early-stage and fast-growing businesses.
Adam’s outsourcing work involves advising both customers and suppliers in the planning, negotiation, contracting, launch and management of business-process & technology outsourcing functions.
As an example of Adam’s work in the financial services and outsourcing field, he receives ongoing instructions from the legal and corporate services and IT systems teams for EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) of a global bank which is one of the largest 10 banks in the world, in relation to a wide variety of IT matters on both a retainer and project-specific basis, including in relation to IT infrastructure and service procurement, data security and privacy, telecoms and outsourcing.
Patrick Reim – Compeer
Patrick joined Compeer in February 2018. He graduated from university in 2017 with a BA in economics. While at university, and for some time after, Patrick worked for a fintech company specialising in unlisted equity data provision. His time in this position consisted of researching and defining criteria upon which unlisted companies, and the funders that invest in them, could be judged. He is currently the lead analyst in Compeer’s Front Office research project, as well as taking the leading role in the production of Compeer’s annual Industry Report.
Johan Koch (JK) – SEI
JK is focused on Business Development of the SEI Wealth Platform in the UK; and is experienced in FinTech for the Financial Advice, Wealth & Asset Management community in the UK, Australia, and Europe.
He has over 15 years of broad, hands-on experience in FinTech, ranging from: implementation, solution design, adoption and new business development.
His career started in Australia and his focus has shifted through online solutions for Financial Advice distributors, broadening to Adviser & Client digital, Omni-Channel Advice, Portfolio Management, Robo-advice and now Outsourced Platform Solutions for the United Kingdom and Europe.
Paul Tuxford – Avaloq
Paul brings a robust body of knowledge in managing global IT initiatives that span project operations in numerous countries, transforming business operations via the use of technology at scale.
Currently working for Avaloq, a global Fintech banking software and outsource service provider as the Head of Client Change, Transformation and Integration (CTI) initiatives. The CTI Division designs, builds and deploys the Avaloq Core and Front banking solutions to successfully meet business requirements of client banks located in Switzerland or worldwide. CTI structures and manages the digital transformation program to take the client banks core processes and systems into a range of business solutions targeted to their own risk profile – from an onsite hosted model, ASP or a full Business Process Outsourcing scenario.
He previously held a C-suite position for a US$4B+ benevolent fund to address AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria around the world. His business savvy has allowed him to best understand sophisticated business needs and negotiate service contracts with the likes of Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Salesforce, and Swisscom, amongst others.
He served honorably in the Royal Australian Air Force for seven years.
Phillip Bungey – 7IM
Phillip trained as a computer expert with Honeywell before moving on to program financial and engineering systems for Memorex. In 1987 Phillip joined the city (in time for the crash!) and was a member of the original team that set up the first UK retail share shop for Debenhams Investment Services. He has held a number of senior positions covering operations, technology and change for Barclays Stockbrokers, UBS and Lloyd’s of London.
Phillip has been involved in many start up and innovative propositional and technical developments including the first ever ‘real time’ online share trade in the UK during his tenure at Barclays Stockbrokers. More recently Phillip founded Winterflood Business Services before joining Nutmeg as COO where he created the first paperless online pension as well as completely revamping the Nutmeg Operating Model bringing all operations in-house and enabling the development of equity fractional share dealing.
At 7IM, Phillip is responsible for Operations, Technology, IT Development, Business Architecture and Change.
David Mason – Sanlam UK
Dave is the COO for Sanlam UK. He spent 17 years with Barclays during which time he was the regional CTO for Asia based in Singapore and Head of Strategy and Architecture for Barclays Wealth in the UK. Following his time with Barclays he worked on a fintech startup and helped to launch Saranac Partners a new Private Client Wealth manager. At Sanlam he is responsible for the UK Group Operations, Technology and Change functions.
Mark Harrison – Waverton Investment Management
Mark Harrison joined Waverton in 2016 as Chief Operating Officer. He has over thirty years’ experience of the financial services industry in executive management, consultancy and advisory roles – specialising in Transformation and Outsourcing. His career started at Andersen Consulting and he also worked for PWC. His corporate experience includes leadership positions at BNP Paribas, Cazenove, AMP and EFG Bank, and in an advisory capacity he has worked for The Bank of England, QIC (Australia) and Hermes. His career has taken him to North America, Asia and Australia.
