Compeer benchmarking services acquired by Bruce Weatherill

I wanted to inform you of recent developments regarding Compeer Limited (Compeer). As can be seen from the message below from Bruce Weatherill, following the sudden passing of our CEO, Compeer has had to enter Liquidation but there is exciting news to follow.

BWC Benchmarking Limited (BWC Benchmarking), a company formed by Bruce Weatherill, has acquired certain assets of Compeer and plans to continue all benchmarking services previously provided by Compeer.

Bruce Weatherill is well known to Compeer clients as he was a NED of Compeer and MC’d many of the Compeer events. He was previously Global leader of PwC’s Wealth Management practice and is now Chair of a number of companies that serve Wealth Managers such as WealthBriefing, The Wisdom Council and Alumia.

Bruce will ensure that the business performance benchmarking surveys, remuneration surveys and wealth management charges analysis will very much continue. I am very much in favour of this acquisition as the best solution and it has my full support.  It presents an exciting opportunity to take the benchmarking services provided by Compeer over the past 30 years and develop them further to enhance their value going forward for the wealth management industry.

A message from Bruce Weatherill

“I am writing to inform you of recent developments regarding Compeer Limited (Compeer) that are important to your ongoing relationship with us.

Due to the very sad, unexpected death of the majority shareholder and CEO of Compeer, Bob Cossey, certain liabilities crystalised which meant that Compeer could not continue in existence. Following careful consideration, the Directors made the decision to place the company into Liquidation and the Liquidation has now completed. This decision was necessary to ensure the continuity and stability of our operations and maximise the amounts available to pay creditors.

However, I am delighted to announce that through my new company, BWC Benchmarking Limited, I have purchased certain intangible assets of Compeer from the Liquidators, which will enable the benchmarking services previously provided to you to continue. I want to assure you that while Compeer will no longer exist, my commitment to our relationship will continue.
